Lita Rossana Ford Also called Lita Ford is an American guitar player and singer who was born in the UK. She was a lead guitarist as a member of The Runaways, a hard-rock band made up of all girls from the 1970s. Their punkish music and raunchy lyrics made them not only the attention of rock fans but also from the community. Although the band was not success on the scene in the United States, it gained enormous popularity overseas. Ford had a long and prosperous career as a solo heavy metal musician after the group broke up together in 1979. She began voice lessons, and released her first solo album 'Out for Blood followed by 'Dancin' on the Edge. Ford was absent from the scene for several years after the albums did not become popular. The year was 1988, when Ford released her smash album "Lita". Kiss Me Deadly (single) and Close My Eyes Forever (ballad) were her greatest songs. The success of her was short lived and for several years after, she went under the radar. The release of Black in 1995 was followed by a 15-year wait for 'Wicked Wonderland. 2016 saw the release of her latest studio album "Time Capsule". Guitar Player Magazine has awarded her The Certified Guitar Legend Award.
