Zoe-perry
Perry was born in Chicago to two actors Laurie Metcalf and Jeff Perry. Her first television appearances were Jackie Harris on ABC's sitcom Roseanne. Her mother portrayed the character. Fearing stress, her parents didn't want to see her pursue acting before she reached the age of age 18. Perry acknowledged that she was not confident in her acting during high school. She began doing it to make friends at Northwestern University after switching from Boston University. Perry began her career with New York after graduation, getting small role on Law & Order: Criminal Intent. But homesickness made Perry come back to California and pursue a career as a theater actress. The Other Place was performed by her and her mom in 2013 on Broadway in 2013. Kevin McKidd, her father Kevin McKidd performed in Eugene O'Neill's Pulitzer prize-winning film Anna Christie alongside her in 2015. Perry played a lead role in nine episodes in 2016 of ABC's show The Family. In 2017, she played an recurring role in The ABC drama about politics Scandal starring her father. The same year the actress was selected to play a young character of Mary Cooper (Sheldon Cooper's mother) on Young Sheldon, a spin-off of the CBS sitcom The Big Bang Theory again playing a young model of the mother's role. She was cast in the role by auditioning for an open role despite being connected to this persona.
